Action packed dragon boat racing at Webbs Garden Centre

Pershore Phoenix Dragon Boat Club held its annual charity day under clear skies and in front of a large crowd.

There was an action packed day of racing with Webbs Garden Centre of Wychbold eventually being crowned the winners for the second year running.

Speaking after the event the chairman of Pershore Phoenix Dragon Boat Club Geoff Munson paid tribute to the members of the club and volunteer helpers whose hard work and commitment resulted in a ?special day?.

He said: “We are delighted with the support we have received. We have raised money for a very worthwhile cause and introduced participants to the exciting sport of dragon boat racing.”
This year the event, held on Sunday, September 7, was held in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance. The total amount raised is yet to be confirmed.

The club, which competes in the British National Premier Division, are recruiting for the 2015 season and the age of current members spans from 12 to 62 years of age.
