Arbroath is in full bloom!

Arbroath in Bloom revealed its first feature flower bed at Fisheracre in the town.

This new ?green? group brings together a number of local organisations to work on planting projects to brighten up Arbroath with beautiful blooms!

The group is planning a number of colourful floral features that will make the town?s historic sites, gardens and parks?more attractive for residents and visitors alike. A poppy display at the High Common and an intricate and colourful plant arrangement at Infirmary Brae are just two of the creative projects planned to improve the town?s natural landscape in the coming months.

The Rotary Club of Arbroath led on the Fisheracre project, which was sponsored by Silverwells Garden Centre and designed by Dundee and Angus College. The Arbroath and Area Partnership made a donation to Arbroath in Bloom, and the group is supported by Angus Council?s local communities? team.

Angus Council?s Communities convener, councillor Donald Morrison, said: ?This is a great example of local organisations and businesses working together on something that everyone in the town can enjoy and take pride in.

?The council is doing its bit to keep our town centres?green and attractive with beds of lower maintenance flowering shrubs and we?re delighted to work with any groups keen to create additional floral displays to make Angus? communities brighter and more beautiful.?
