Best New Product announced at Garden Press Event

Wool Pots picked up the prize for Best New Product at the Garden Press Event, held on 21 February at the Business Design Centre in London. The brand’s biodegradable plant pots are made from 100% natural wool as an alternative to plastic.

The Bob Maker Memorial Award for Best Stand Display went to Blue Diamond & the National Trust, who were showcasing the new collaboration between the garden centre and the charity. Products are already in store, with new ranges to be launched later in the year.

Both awards were voted on throughout the day by the visiting press, and entrants donated to Greenfingers Charity to be considered for an award. More than 400 members of the garden press and media attended the event organised by the Horticultural Trade Association (HTA) and Garden Industry Manufacturers Association (GIMA).

GIMA director Vicky Nutall, who presented the awards, says: “The Garden Press Event is a unique opportunity for our industry to showcase their products, meet members of the press and discuss the issues of the day. The hall was packed, and it was great to see so many businesses networking. We hope this was a successful and enjoyable event for all those who attended the show.”
