Bord na Mona has added three new ‘Best Buys’ to its credentials. This follows a triple award win in the latest Which? compost trials.
The annual Which? compost trials test over 25 composts and growbags. Each formulation assessed based on its quality and performance.
The commended trio of Bord na Mona ‘Best Buys’ for 2019 includes the company’s own-brand Pro 5 All-Purpose Compost. This saw sales growth of +262% last year as a result of the industry’s shift towards premium ranges.
Bord na Mona’s own-label products in partnership with Wyevale Garden Centres also got ‘Best Buys’.
Bord na Mona has worked in partnership with the garden centre group supplying its compost since 2016. The company has a total of six joint awards achieved during this period. The retailer also stocks Pro 5 All-Purpose Compost in all centres nationwide.
Steve Harper, Head of Commercial and Marketing, said: “Two main focus areas for us have been to grow our premium range and establish a stronger presence in the garden centre channel. We’re thrilled to see both targets met with esteemed Which? Best Buys.
“As the largest garden centre group in the UK, Wyevale Garden Centres will remain in our growth strategy. We look to grow our UK distribution and sales for both branded and own-label product.”
Mairi Devlin, Head of Trading at Wyevale Garden Centres, said:
We’re delighted to be continuing our collaborative relationship with Bord na Mona this year. What better way to kick-start the peak gardening season than with two new awards.”
