Directors and staff at a Bradford Garden Centre are celebrating after being crowned Small or Medium Enterprise of the Year at the seventh annual Bradford Means Business awards.

Tong Garden Centre, who beat stiff competition from ECSC Group and Approach PR, was rewarded for its strong financial performance, positive impact on the community, good staff and customer care and potential for future success.

Tong Garden Centre co-owner, Mark Farnsworth received the award at the ceremony at The Midpoint Suite, Thornbury and said: “You can only achieve what we have achieved with a great team effort and this award is the recognition that the whole team deserve. We are all very proud of what we have all achieved and it’s very satisfying to have our success acknowledged and rewarded by our local business community.”

Organised by Bradford Telegraph & Argus in partnership with Bradford Council and the?Bradford Chamber, the awards have become the highlight of the business calendar in the district.

The Small or Medium Enterprise of the Year award is sponsored by City Training Services.

Tong Garden Centre occupies a 14 acre site in Tong village. It is one of Yorkshire’s biggest garden centres with 110,000 square feet of retail space and parking for up to 750 cars.
