Bradford Garden Centre celebrates White Rose shortlist success

The team at a Bradford Garden Centre are celebrating after being shortlisted for a prestigious regional tourism award.

Tong Garden Centre has reached the final in the Outstanding Customer Service category of the Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards for its exemplary customer service.

The leading independent garden centre, acquired in 2015 by Mark Farnsworth and Tom Megginson, is one of seven finalists that includes prestigious businesses Yorebridge House and Beck Hall, Malham.

The Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards honour Yorkshire’s ?8 billion a year tourism economy and are the largest celebration of tourism excellence in?the UK. The winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony in November.

Of the shortlist, Tong Garden Centre’s co-owner, Mark Farnsworth said: “Creating outstanding customer experiences by delivering exceptional customer service is at the heart of everything we do here at Tong.

“This shortlist success is testament to the commitment and loyalty displayed by our growing team as we continue to develop Tong to make it the North’s leading garden centre.”?

Sir Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “The White Rose Awards are the largest and most prestigious in the UK’s hospitality and tourism industry and we have some really exciting finalists this year from both new and established businesses.

“The awards are a brilliant opportunity to shine the spotlight on the fantastic experiences to be had in Yorkshire.

Tong Garden Centre is one of Yorkshire’s biggest garden centres with 110,000 square feet of retail space and parking for up to 700 cars.
