Bulbs donated for Garden of Hope.

More than 2,000 daffodil bulbs have been planted to create a Garden of Hope at Beverley’s ?19m new community hospital.?Members of the Beverley fundraising group for Marie Curie Cancer Care organised the bulb planting at the East Riding Community Hospital, in Swinemoor Lane.?People who have lost loved ones to cancer were invited to give donations for planting daffodils in their memory.?There were also bulbs donated by local garden centres and?businesses.

Liz Duncan, chairman of the charity’s Beverley fund raising group, said: “We had this idea of having a garden of hope because the new hospital had opened in Beverley.

“We thought it would be a really nice idea. We invited people to make donations and we also contacted local garden centres to get sponsors and donations of bulbs.”

Donations of bulbs were made by Coletta & Tyson Garden Centre and Beverley Garden Centre in Woodmansey, Cherry Lane Garden Centre in Tickton and Morrisons in Beverley.
