Construction of large canopy commences at Norfolk garden centre

A sizeable canopy project is now underway at Holt Garden Centre, part of The Kelling Estate in Holt. Design and build contractor Fordingbridge is adding more than 15,500 sq ft of covered retail space to the Norfolk-based garden centre.

Construction saw the centre closed on 22 December so that the area could be cleared and groundworks could begin, and Fordingbridge arrived on site at the beginning of the year.

Once complete with new, wider customer flow points and an improved plant area, the garden centre is set to reopen early February in time for Mother’s Day.

The bulk of the works will be made up of a large triple-span barrel vault canopy, designed and manufactured by Fordingbridge in its West Sussex factory. It will feature the company’s Opal 60 roof, ensuring the area is naturally well lit to create a pleasant shopping experience.
