Consumers sign up for the latest posh barbecue

An early Easter and the clocks on summertime saw consumers splash out on preparing for home entertaining – with demand for their latest high-tech barbecue already beating sales expectations, says a leading UK supplier.

Feedback from on-line and garden centre trade customers indicates strong consumer demand for our new Signature series gas barbecue – which is good news for a high status choice product that’s only been in the UK market for three months.

Top-end barbecues in stainless steel were last year’s sales favourites, and the Signature has been specifically designed to meet that consumer demand“, said Mark Osborne, chief executive of Outback UK International.

Outdoor chefs want a choice from a slow roast to a fast grill, with the latest in high-tech cooking techniques in a pre-assembled barbecue delivered directly to the garden or patio.

A survey revealed a tripling in demand over three years for barbecues at the premium end of the Outback range, with al fresco entertaining an accepted alternative to going out for a meal – while sharing a get-together also making economic sense“, he said.

The Signature comes with four or six gas burners for grills and griddles, a ceramic infrared rear burner, cast iron and brass side burner, motorised rotisserie, kitchen-style storage space and a weather-proof canvas cover.
