Countdown to National Gardening Week begins

The countdown to National Gardening Week 2015 (13-19 April) has begun. As in previous years the RHS will be co-ordinating this national celebration of all things green and would like to invite everyone to take part. Last year hundreds of gardens, cultural organisations, museums, heritage sites, charities, individuals and businesses got involved, reaching millions across the country and encouraging them to get out and garden.

The aim of National Gardening Week in 2015 is to encourage people and organisations to come together and help keep their neighbourhoods, environments and shared spaces beautiful through gardening. The tagline will be ?Start Something Beautiful.? The RHS will be running projects throughout the week as well as providing resources and guides around this theme and encouraging others to contribute ideas, hold events or exhibitions and run activities.

If you would like to get involved with National Gardening Week please contact us onnationalgardeningweek@rhs.org.uk?with your plans, ideas, events, tips, offers of help, activities and anything else you can think of ? we?d love to hear from you.

Getting involved has many benefits beyond just the kudos of supporting the week?s aims and being part of a prestigious group of organisations. Last year our press, marketing and online teams ran campaigns that reached an audience of millions. The campaigns focused public and press attention on those involved in National Gardening Week and their activities; meaning our partners in the week reached new audiences, attracted people to their events and had their work, aims and messages widely publicised. This year we will be building on that, and already have media partnerships set up with the BBC and Press Association and extensive social media and online campaigns prepared.

The aim of National Gardening Week in 2015 is to encourage people and organisations to come together to celebrate and learn about gardening, or help keep their neighbourhoods, environments and shared spaces beautiful through gardening. Our tagline for this is ?Start Something Beautiful.? The RHS is running events and projects throughout the week and has prepared resources, idea packs and factsheets around this theme, which can be downloaded from the website, and which you are welcome to use as part of your events/activities, or to promote them.

So if you would like to take part and have your organisation, event or brand involved in the nation?s biggest celebration of gardening, register your event now or contact campaign project manager Stephanie Shepherd on 020 7821 3042 or?nationalgardeningweek@rhs.org.uk
