Cranborne Garden Centre has announced its schedule of events for the summer 2015 season.
The first of its Evening Talks held in the Caf? will take place on Tuesday 30th June at 6pm.? Garden historian Christine Stones will visit the Garden Centre to discuss ?Plant Hunters? ? how certain species were brought back to the UK, who were the leaders in the field when it came to plant exploration?? How have these expeditions affected the modern garden?? Who sent these explorers on their way?
Christine Stones has a background of broadcasting having worked?at the BBC as a producer and a presenter before turning to the academic world.? She has visited and recorded over 300 gardens in the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Ecuador, Cuba, Sri Lanka, Thailand, India, Holland, Italy, Russia and Germany.
The team at Cranborne Garden Centre has arranged for a selection of experts to present the evening talks throughout the season with topics covering gardening, the environment, natural health and history.? Tickets cost ?10, a 20% discount will be offered to groups of 4 and over booking together.
