Dobbies to support children?s hospice with Christmas campaign

Dobbies Garden Centre in Lynn will be supporting East Anglia?s Children?s Hospices (EACH) through a Christmas charity partnership.

Dobbies is teaming up with Together for Short Lives, a leading UK charity for children?s palliative care which works with children?s hospices and other services to help young people and their families.

Lynn?s Dobbies will be supporting EACH which provides care and support to life-threatened children and their families across Norfolk from its hospice in Quidenham.

The Christmas programme of events at Dobbies begins with a fundraising?night on Thursday, October 2, when visitors can enjoy demonstrations, live music and refreshments.

The fundraiser will be the first charity partnership event, with Dobbies aiming to raise an overall total of ?100,000 for the charity across its 34 stores.

Andy King, manager director of Dobbies said: ?We are thrilled to be partnering with Together for Short Lives this year and helping to raise vital funds to support the UK?s 53 children?s hospice services.

?We?re looking forward to welcoming local family and friends to our stores to enjoy a fabulous festive evening filled with festive demos, live entertainment and lots of delicious treats.?

Dobbies?s Christmas fundraising?campaign will include all kinds of events, ranging from a Ladies? Night to Santa?s arrival.

Rose Peasgood, EACH Norfolk fundraiser, said: ?We?re looking forward to working with our local Dobbies store over the next few festive months. They have a fantastic line-up of events scheduled and the funds raised will help us continue to provide vital care and support for children, young people and families.?

Tickets for Dobbies?s Christmas charity evening are ?1 and include a mince pie and mulled wine on arrival, with all ticket proceeds donated directly to Together for Short Lives. The event takes place between 5pm and 9pm. Tickets are available to purchase in advance at Dobbies.
