Every dog has its day ? and for many of them it came on Saturday, at Knights Garden Centre, in Chelsham.
A fun dog show attracted more than 100 entries, ranging from labradors and German shepherds to poodles.
Running throughout the afternoon, the event was comprised of 11 competition categories, including most handsome dog, best handshake, waggiest tail and fancy dress.
The judges included a dog trainer and a former dog breeder.
Prizes of rosettes and goody bags were given out to the winning entrants.
Co-organiser Kerry Rowlinson, who works in the pets department of the Limpsfield Road store, said: “The show has been running annually for about ten years and, as ever, it was a really nice atmosphere.
“All the dogs were well-behaved, despite the fact there were so many of them close together.”
Entries per show class were ?1.50 each.
A raffle had 16 dog-related prizes including toys, beds and games.
All the proceeds from the day, which are still being totted up, will go to the Garbo’s German Shepherd Rescue group.
The garden centre hosts various special events.
Next in line is a children’s?Hallowe’en pumpkin party on the evening of October 31.
Traditionally a sell-out event, ?4 tickets can be bought in advance.
