Endsleigh Garden and Leisure raises hundreds for local charity

A garden centre has raised more than ?750 for a local charity during the last year.?Endsleigh Garden and Leisure, in Ivybridge, has raised the cash for The Ivybridge District Community Transport Association (IDCTA).

The charity, which provides transport for elderly, disabled or isolated people who are having difficulty using public transport, has benefited from collections and donations made at the garden centre.

Martyn Gue, deputy store manager said: ?We were able to collect over ?100 alone from donations at our Christmas tree weekend in early December and another similar amount from a wishing tree in our grotto.

?The garden centre’s?customers?have donated so generously in store and we thank them greatly.?

Barbara Davies, IDCTA’s Vice Chairman said: ?This is a fantastic effort, and we thank all of the Endsleigh customers who donated.

?We are looking to upgrade?IT system?to help provide an even more efficient service to our users, and so this money will help us to achieve that.?
