Evolution Plants sold by Alexander Mackie Associates Ltd

Alexander Mackie Associates Ltd (AMA) has announced the sale of Evolution Plants. AMA acted for the vendor, Mr. Tom Mitchell, and the purchasers were Mr. and Mrs. Macdougall.

Evolution Plants is a specialist temperate plant mail order and wholesale nursery located in South Wraxall, Wiltshire. The nursery covers some circa 11.5 acres.

Mr. Mitchell has decided to sell the nursery so he can follow his passion, which is the exploration and collection of exotic plants from around the world.

AMA would like to wish Mr. and Mrs. Macdougall and Mr. Mitchell every success for the future.

Evolution Plants is a specialist temperate plant mail order/wholesale nursery located in South Wraxall, Wiltshire. The nursery covers 4.65 ha and was for sale through Alexander Mackie for ?310,000. Stock is being sold separately, much of it having been grown from seeds collected in the wild through Mitchell’s plant hunting endeavours.

Buildings/structures on site include offices, poly/netted tunnels by Northern Polytunnels and a display glasshouse by Hartley Botanic.

According to a statement from Alexander Mackie, Mitchell has decided to sell the nursery so he can focus on exploration and the collection of exotic plants from around the world.

The former banker announced in July on his Facebook page that he had to sell the business, and said he hoped to find someone equally passionate to continue his vision of turning the nursery into “a botanical ark, in which some of the world?s threatened plants could be propagated and distributed to guardians around the world”.
