Exciting new plans unveiled for Barton Grange Garden Centre

This week we have unveiled our plans for an exciting new leisure development at our Garden Centre site here in Brock.

The proposed ?Flower Bowl? will offer premium entertainment and dining facilities, including only the second Curling Rink in the whole of England.? It will generate at least eighty new jobs for the area.

Facilities will include:
A Curling Rink with 4 ice sheets, to be used by Club curlers, social curlers and hopefully school groups, with the potential to become a centre of excellence.

Ten Pin Bowling, aimed at the mature market, with eight bowling lanes, two of which are in a private room which can be booked for parties.

A Premium Cinema with 120 plush seats, showing a choice of films, including vintage films rather than recent releases, but with variations during school holidays.

Two Crazy Golf courses, one indoors and one outdoors, but covered, both constructed to an exceptionally high standard, with unique challenges and amazing effects.

A Diner Restaurant, part American and part Italian-style, offering the traditional burger menu complemented by salads, pasta and pizzas, all of excellent quality.

A 200 cover Fish and Chip Restaurant offering a traditional fish and chips/pie and chips menu, again of excellent quality.

An Ice Cream and Coffee Shop, located in the foyer area.

A Kayak Shop, sited next to the canal with direct access from the canal side, offering both rental and purchase of kayaks.

The Flower Bowl will be a single storey building with a grass roof, which might eventually have sheep grazing on it.

Plans are on display in our Riverside Caf? until the end of November for people to view. Feedback forms are available for people to leave their comments and views.

The aim is to submit a full planning application in December.

Guy Topping, MD of Barton Grange Garden Centre, says: ?This is a major new development for us which we believe will bring much needed entertainment and leisure facilities to the area.

?The emphasis is on quality, premium facilities throughout. Our main target audience is the more mature market although there will of course be many opportunities for families with young children to come along and get involved.

?We are particularly excited about bringing curling facilities to the north of England. Our curling rink will be used by club curlers, social curlers and, we hope, local schools. Our intention is to develop a Centre of Excellence and maybe even discover and train some future Olympians!?

If planning permission is granted, work will probably begin in late 2015 with the hope of opening the development in the spring of 2017.
