Expansion approved for Bretby garden centre

by | Jan 8, 2016 | News | 0 comments

Expansion plans at Planters in Bretby have been given the green light, signalling ?exciting times? in store for the garden centre.

The expansion of the Derbyshire centre is said to be part of a project to make the centre more appealing to younger families.

Speaking to the Burton Mail, centre manager Mark Shaw said: ?In the last 12 to 18 months we have had a big effort to get people to bring all the family to the centre.

?We?ve had a beach and an ice rink and we are starting to see more younger families coming in. Before, people may have come in to buy a plant, pot or compost and then go but now families are staying for the morning or afternoon.?

He added that needing to open the overflow car park behind the centre was ?a nice problem to have?.
