Garden centre staff dig deep to improve Cambridgeshire nurseries

Staff and volunteers at a garden centre run by Cambridgeshire?s mental health trust planted more than 400 tree to spruce the site up.

The project at Darwin Nurseries, on Newmarket Road, Teversham, followed a donation from The Woodland Trust to Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT).

Team manager Christine Millar took delivery of 420 trees this week, which have been planted to create an improved habitat for wildlife and protect the site from strong winds.

Christine said: ?We had a fantastic turnout of staff, service users and volunteers for the planting.

?Thanks to their incredible effort, this will be a major step forward in our 10-year plan to develop the site.?

Volunteers include CPFT service users with learning disabilities.
