Garden centre wants shed load of crafts

CRAFTY people are being urged to help create a community art installation in the shape of a shed in aid of the North Devon Hospice.

Trelawney at Ashford are inviting customers to create pieces of art to do ?something a bit different? for its Shed Week in July.

Caroline Howell-Williams, general manager, said: ?We?re asking people to drop in eight inch by eight inch squares, made from different materials, and including different patterns, for us to attach to one of our sheds.

?Once the shed is covered it will be a wonderful sight to see and a fabulous art piece.

?The squares can be made from any material and can be knitted, painted, drawn or sewn with any colours or designs people choose.

?They should then be dropped off at our craft centre and our expert team will attach them to the shed ready to display for Shed Week.?

Tomorrow (Saturday) people will be able to attend a drop in session at the craft centre between 10am and 4pm and have a go at making squares for the display with help and advice from the craft team. The session will be free to attend.

During Shed Week (July 1 ? 6) the decorated shed will be put on display in the garden centre and people can visit and try and find their entry.
