Gardenex and PetQuip to host International Buyers? Centre at Glee 2016

The Gardenex and PetQuip associations are organising and manning the International Buyers? Centre again at Glee in 2016 (18M66-N65).

On the stand will be a range of facilities for British suppliers of garden, leisure and pet products and for overseas visitors to the show.

As part of their role of bringing together British suppliers and buyers from around the world, the associations will be hosting International Buyers Connect sessions within the International Buyers? Centre between 10am and 12 noon each day of the show. The meetings will offer the chance for exhibitors to hold introductory talks with key international buyers. To date, the buyers that have confirmed that they will be participating include two from the US; one representing a mail order/internet sales company and the other is a mail order/distributor. There will also be mail order/internet sales companies from France and Germany, a distributor from Romania and a leading distributor of hardware and garden products from Spain.

Exhibitors can contact emma@gardenex.com or emma@petquip.com for further details and for appointments.

In addition to the International Buyers Connect sessions, a number of other overseas buyers have contacted The Federation to confirm they will be attending Glee from Europe and markets further afield, including Australia, Dubai and even the Falkland Islands.

Following its success last year, the PetQuip association will be hosting the PetQuip Business Village again in 2016. The Village aims to introduce a more concentrated pet element for pet buyers from garden centres at the show, and it will be open to all suppliers of pet care products. Pet care suppliers visiting the Village can gain helpful advice on how specifically to target garden centres.

Commenting on the show?s export facilities this year, the director general of Gardenex and PetQuip, Amanda Sizer Barrett, said: ?At Glee each year we strive to introduce new elements to the range of export facilities on offer in order to help existing and aspiring exporters of garden, leisure and pet products to open up and expand sales to overseas markets. The beneficial business facilities available in the International Buyers? Centre have resulted in the centre becoming the focal point for visiting overseas buyers of British products. The latest multi-lingual issues of the Gardenex Directory of British Garden & Leisure Products and the PetQuip Buyers? publications will be distributed at the show. The publications are used extensively by buyers in markets across the world to identify appropriate British suppliers with whom to work.

?In addition to welcoming overseas buyers on the stand, we also look forward to meeting with suppliers of garden and pet products who are seriously contemplating exporting and encouraging them to take advantage of the wide ranging export opportunities that the federation has to offer. We are launching two new business services at the show, which will prove immediately beneficial to members’ businesses.”
