Glee New Product Awards 2017 – Winners announced

Eleven ground-breaking new garden products have been confirmed as the winners of the coveted Glee New Product Awards 2017, at a special award presentation organised and run by Garden Trade News.

Selected from hundreds of entries showcased at Glee (11 ? 13 September, NEC Birmingham), the winning products were chosen by an expert panel of judges, representing independent and multiple retailers and international suppliers.

Entries were submitted into twelve key garden retail categories, comprising:

  • Best Retail Services and Experiences Products
  • Best Outdoor Entertaining Products
  • Best Garden Decoration Products
  • Best Home, Gift and Clothing Products
  • Best Wildlife and Pets Products
  • Best Garden Care – Growing Accessories Products
  • Best Garden Care ? Chemicals, Fertilisers and Growing Media Products
  • Best Plants, Seeds and Bulbs Products
  • Best Tools and Machinery Products
  • Best Landscaping Products
  • Best of British
  • Glee Consumer Choice ? sponsored by Modern Garden

A further award ? Visitor Choice Award, sponsored by The HTA ? will be announced on Wednesday (13th September) morning at 12:30pm.? Retailers visiting the Glee New Product display are invited to vote for their favourite product after viewing the entries on display to select this year?s Visitor Choice Award.

The 2017 judges – Tony Kersey, Bunnings/Homebase; Michelle de Lavis-Trafford, Choice Marketing; Marcus Cousins, Aylett Nurseries; Heidi Towse, Frosts Garden Centres/Tillington Group; Ian Hodgson, Editor at Large, Garden News; Brian Archibald, bandhsolutions; Nigel Wallis, Baytree Garden Centre; Anita Meuleman, Editor in Chief, Garden Retailer and Tuinzaken – considered each entry on a challenging range of criteria, including innovation, design, quality, environmental credentials, pricing and retail potential ? resulting in some hot debates and close runners-up in a number of categories. A shortlist was then decided for each category, with the shortlisted suppliers then invited to join the judges in the ?Pitching Den?.

All entries can be found in a single central located New Product Showcase at the end of central boulevard in Hall 17.

Best Landscaping Products

Best of British

Winner: I-glo ? I-glo Decking Dish

A final award ? Best New Product at Glee 2017 ? was selected from all the entries received. This year the highly coveted title went to I-go ? I-glo Decking Disc.
