Green Light for Major Extension Project at Hillier Garden Centre Newbury

Visitors to Hillier Garden Centre Newbury can look forward to a transformed experience. This follows the granting of planning permission for a major extension project.
The project will see the garden centre become an attractive and inspiring destination.
More than 2,500m2 of extra retail space is planned. That’s almost triple the existing area. It will be housed within a new glass-fronted building with apex roofline.
This will create a beautiful home for retail partners of Hillier, as well as housing a farm shop and coffee shop.
The entrance and car parking area will be reconfigured. It’ll create a better facility and more parking spaces. Landscaping, including feature trees, will also be installed.
Work on this exciting new project will begin in summer 2020. It’ll be completed in time for the peak spring season in 2021.
“We’re delighted to have the green light for this extension project,” comments Chris Francis, Hillier director.
“A few years ago, we undertook a shop refit at Newbury and introduced our popular Mulberry & Thyme Restaurant. These have contributed to the success of the Garden Centre. This extension project will take the location to a whole new level.
“Thanks go to West Berkshire Council. They’ve been fantastic to work with during the planning application process. We are very excited for the local community to see the changes.”
