After all the hard work, planning and preparation that has taken place at Bents Garden & Home over the past 18 months it?s now time to celebrate. ?To mark the official launch of the new look store Bents? threw a party full of fun and entertainment for its customers and colleagues.
Central to the event was a celebratory balloon launch* in aid of in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Bents? Charity of the Year when hundreds of balloons were released through Bents? Open Skies Glass House; an activity which brought Bents? annual fundraising total to a staggering ?16k for the first six months of its fundraising year and well on track to smash all previous fundraising figures.
Visitors to the event were also greeted on arrival with their own Bents? Passport to Summer, taking them on a journey of discovery around the new-look Centre where they were able to check in at various destinations with tasters, treats, sampling and demonstrations.
A pamper lounge, hosted by The Potion Shop, was on hand and provided the perfect place to relieve tired limbs whilst enjoying all the entertainment which included cookery demonstrations, entertainment from the Kathleen Atherton Dance School, children?s activities, Bents? Plant Doctor and a visit from Crocodile Joe, who challenged a team of colleagues to their own Bush Tucker Trial, won by the Centre?s very own Matthew Bent.
Matthew Bent, managing director at Bents Garden & Home said:? ?We are now one of the largest and longest established garden centres in the UK and we thought it was important to mark the completion of the latest stage in our journey with a special celebratory party.
?Despite our growth, we are proud that Bents is still a family owned and run business, now in its third generation, and with a fantastic team of colleagues.? The party was not only a celebration for our customers, but also a big thank you to members of our team all of whom are responsible for making Bents the success it is today.?
