All nursery exhibitors to the HTA National Plant Show, sponsored by Hortipak, that takes place on 19 and 20 June at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire have signed up to the industry responsible sourcing statement demonstrating their commitment to plant health and biosecurity.
Commenting on this, President Adam Taylor said, ?Plant health is fundamental to our industry and the 100% commitment from our exhibitors to demonstrate this is clear. It has never been more important to ensure that we have traceability for the plants that we sell and that businesses follow best practice.?
Further support will be available at the show with colleagues from APHA providing guidance and advice and a plant health update at the seminar theatre from Director of Horticulture, Raoul Curtis-Machin.
This builds on the work that the Horticultural Trades Association has been doing, alongside other agencies, to help raise awareness of plant health issues and good practice. Further information, including a guide to plant passports, can be found on the HTA website:- www.hta.org.uk/xylella
