Inver Garden Centre provides plants for Larne Scouts foster pride in the community

Scouts in Larne are hoping to foster better community relations after holding a beach-themed barbeque during Scout Community Week.

The 7th Larne Scout Group secured over ?500 from the Housing Executive?s cohesion programme to stage the event, which marked the end of the week-long celebrations.

Inver Garden Centre provided the plants and the Scouts presented the centre with a hanging basket.

Representatives from Little Angels and Larne Adult Centre, who were given planters and a hanging basket, were also present. The community PSNI and Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service attended in their work vehicles to support the event.

The Scouts have worked with Larne Adult Centre to improve their main entrance by giving it a tidy up, painting railings and planting new bedding plants.

Larne Adult Centre will be presenting 7th Larne with a community trophy to encourage the young people to become more involved in community work.
