AN Inverness garden centre left their rivals green with envy after picking up a top award for the fifth year in a row.
Simpsons Garden Centre scooped the Garden Centre Association’s Best Destination Garden Centre in Scotland prize once again, as well as six other awards.
The Inshes centre is now in the running to win the UK award for Best Destination Garden Centre, which will be announced in January.
The awards are decided by the results of the annual inspections undertaken at all GCA garden centres. Garden centres have no advance warning about when their inspection will take place and they don?t have the option to turn away the inspector.
Andrew Simpson, managing director at the centre, said: “The awards tell us that we?re doing something right.
?It comes down to a whole variety of things working together ? the right people with a keen eye for the right product, great staff service, specialist knowledge across all areas, expertise in the kitchen, and the determination not to compromise on standards, whether it?s a cake for the restaurant or a tree for the garden.?
