National plant supplier Johnsons Garden Centre Sales has hosted an open week for its plant retail customers. Johnsons is part of the York-based Johnsons of Whixley Group.

According to the company, ?40,000 worth of orders resulted from the event, with customers invited to take a tour of its 150 acre site in rural?North Yorkshire. Visitors included Cowells, Newbank and Scotsdales garden centres.

Mark Reynard, sales manager at Johnsons Garden Centre Sales said: ?It was great to meet our customers and take them on a tour around the site here in Whixley. The weather was kind to us.

?We had a great response from everyone who came and it gave us the opportunity to show off our new varieties and ranges, which will also be on display at the HTA National Plant Show in June.

?This is only the second time we?ve hosted an event like this and I would like to thank everyone who came along. We?re really looking forward to doing it all again next year.?
