Keeping it local at Bents new food hall

Award winning wine merchants, Reserve Wines and traditional family butchers, Honeywell?s are the latest retailers to sign up and join Warrington based Bents Garden & Home.?

Both will form core elements of the Centre?s extensive new 30,000 sq ft Food Hall which is due to fully open early next year.? Whilst work continues to finalise the Food Hall Bents will operate a ?pop up? style food venue over the Christmas period which will feature both new additions.

Didsbury based Reserve Wines, one of Manchester?s finest independent wine merchants, is owned and run by Kate Goodman who features on BBC?s Food & Drink show. Kate will bring extensive expertise, establishing Reserve Wines at Bents and stocking a huge variety of wines, spirits and beers.? The new department will also feature what is expected to be a very popular tasting bar for customers to try before they buy.

Another new addition to the Food Hall is Honeywell?s; a family owned butchers based in Preston who pride themselves on supporting the local farming community and providing customers with the finest selection of local produce.? Honeywell?s was established in 1970 by the Gornall family and is now run by brothers John and Anthony Gornall. Their new butchery at Bents will feature a traditional preparation and butchers area with glass fronted cold rooms enabling customers to see and experience the preparation of their produce.

Says Matthew Bent, Managing Director at Bents Garden & Home:? ?Despite our growth and expansion we are still a family business with a commitment to traditional values and a desire to source locally whenever we can. ?We?ve been looking for retail partners who are not only the very best in their business but also ones that share our values and we believe both Reserve Wines and Honeywell?s have the same exceptional standards for their customers.?

Once fully open in the new year, the extended Food Hall at Bents will also offer fresh quality fruit and vegetables, a range of deli counters, fresh bakery and a wine and tapas bar in addition to the new butchers and wine shop as well as a demo area for culinary workshops.

The Food Hall forms an integral part of Bents? new expansion which will also include an extensive new pet department, Children?s Boutique, outdoor clothing retailer, kitchenware department as well as the first superstore for arts and crafts retailer C-Craft.
