One of the UK’s leading commercial nurseries is unveiling today (June 24, 2014) at the HTA National Plant Show a new Forsythia and several other new plants for 2015.
Following the launch of Forsythia ?Spring Show Off? in the USA, Wyevale Nurseries, which recently re-organised from three companies into one, is offering the plant in the UK.
Sales and Marketing Director, Adam Dunnett said: ?The launch of Forsythia ?Spring Show Off?, which was named by us, in the States was hugely successful and it will form an important part of the range we?re offering to garden centre plant buyers for 2015.
?Also new are: Buddleja ?Sugar Plum?, Penstemon ?Margarita BOP?, Rhodanthemum ?Pretty In Pink? and Helichrysum ?Ruby Cluster? to name but a few.?
As well as these new introductions, Wyevale Nurseries will be launching a new, re-branded, 2015 promotional catalogue that includes 20 new plant promotions, as well as many of the old favourites.
Adam added: ?This year we have seen some significant changes to the company, we have re-structured from three separate businesses into one, with our container plant, tree and transplant (hedging) companies now all trading as Wyevale Nurseries.
?In celebration of this we have developed a new brand for our point of sale, with a fresh, contemporary look ? where the plant image is king.
?The HTA National Plant Show signals the start of an exciting new chapter for our business. We are a successful company and as such we can never stand still. Our new brand is part of our drive to lead the industry into a fast moving, flexible, customer driven era.?
The company?s 2015 buyers? catalogue includes numerous offers and incentives for buyers and is aimed at making garden centre plant areas profitable.
Wyevale Nurseries is one of the largest family-run wholesale nurseries in the UK. It was established in 1928 by Harry Williamson, a horticulturist and entrepreneur. It became the company it is today under the leadership of his son, Peter, who sadly passed away in 2011.
The Williamsons? saw the opportunity to sell their product to an undeveloped retail market, creating one of the first garden centres, followed by a chain. In 1987, the retail side needed to expand and the 19 garden centres were sold as a PLC.
The family then turned its focus to Wyevale Nurseries Ltd. It continues to be a family-run business with ownership and joint chairmanship currently being held by the third generation, Heather and Simeon Williamson, with plans for the fourth generation to takeover in the future.
Wyevale Nurseries has a significant product range and is regularly introducing new plants. It offers a large variety of trees, shrubs, hedging, herbaceous and specimen plants to garden centres, landscape contractors, local authorities, foresters and landowners.
