Organic retailers urged to join ‘Wake Up To Organic’ campaign

Organic Trade Board and The Soil Association are calling for independent retailers to take part in ?Wake Up To Organic? – a new campaign designed to drive footfall and awareness of products this summer.
Wake Up To Organic will see stores all over the UK offering passers-by a complimentary breakfast on Wednesday June 17.
There will also be a programme of in store events, displays and tastings in the run up to the day.
The drive is part of the Naturally Different campaign which is funded 50% by the organic industry and 50% by the EU.
Retailers will be called upon to theme displays and tastings around breakfast and prepare simple organic breakfast items that can be given away on the day.
The campaign is being supported by national PR and social media campaigns as well as events around the country, including London, Glasgow and Bristol.
Catherine Fookes, campaign manager at the Trade Board said: ?Wake Up is an opportunity for us to celebrate the organic difference and really drive footfall in advance of existing Naturally Different campaigns.
Lee Holdstock from the Soil Association said: ?Breakfast is an easy and affordable way for consumers to give this lifestyle a try and it allows for a wide range of delicious products to be displayed and enjoyed.
“We?d love to hear from brands or retailers that might like to take part in any way ? big or small?.
