Red Devils parachute Santa to garden centre

The British Army?s Parachute Regiment display team, the Red Devils, has parachuted Father Christmas in to Tong Garden Centre in Yorkshire.

To mark the first Christmas of the rejuvenated Tong Garden Centre following its acquisition earlier this year, marketing manager Jo Dales was tasked with organising Santa?s arrival to the grotto in the centre.

Jo Dales explained: ?We really wanted Santa to arrive at the grotto by parachute, so we called the Red Devils freefall team to see whether they could help!?

The Red Devils were eager to help, with Corporal Alex Perry commenting: ?The Red Devils take on all types of challenges and this is one of the more unusual requests, but we were thrilled to help and be part of such an innovative and different experience. We had great fun filming the video and love the outcome.?

Watching the video of Santa’s spectacular arrival is part of the grotto experience at Tong Garden Centre, that also includes a walk through a winter wonderland, a festive fairytale with Santa and a visit to the elves? workshop to choose a gift.

Santa will be in his grotto at Tong every day until Christmas Eve. Bookings can be made at the centre or online at:
