RHS: An exciting range of events for all ages

RHS Garden Hyde Hall, near Chelmsford, Essex is hosting an exciting range of events throughout August from interactive storytelling to a four-day specialist craft & design fair.

Over the Bank Holiday period, 22?25 August, Craft in Focus will be presenting a four-day contemporary craft and design fair with more than 100 professional designer-makers displaying their work. It is an ideal opportunity for the public to view and buy pieces from an exciting range of emerging British talent and more-established artists.

The Association of Essex Photographers will be hosting an exhibition of their work from 15 to 25 August. All artists are professional photographers local to Chelmsford and specialise in landscapes, wildlife, plants and abstract images. Paul Anthony Vine, who recently won the 2014 East Anglian Federation Annual Exhibition with his piece entitled The Rower, The Rider and The River, will take part in the exhibtion.

On Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 August, there is a family-friendly performance by storyteller Rob Pudner of Entertainingly Different, which forms part of the Great Garden Quest summer holiday activities. It?s a magical journey around the garden where guests come face to face with a host of enchanting characters, including a dragon, trolls and pixies, to guide them on their mystical quest. Woven with stories, original songs and live music, it is a fantastical adventure for young and old alike. Younger visitors can make a dragon puppet, magical hat, headband and wand.

All events are free with normal garden admission. Children?s activities vary weekly so check website for further details: www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/hyde-hall
