RHS Garden Harlow Carr celebrates the autumn season with harvest festival

Celebrate the autumn harvest at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Garden Harlow Carr, as the North Yorkshire garden shares the gifts of the season in its Taste of Autumn Festival (4 – 5 October) supported by Mr Fothergill’s Seeds, where food, music, and cookery will come together in a bounty of seasonal delights.

The annual event at the Society’s most northerly garden, in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, is jam-packed with a range of horticultural and inspirational foodie delights. Visitors can enjoy outdoor cookery demonstrations by Harrogate chef Lionel Strub and gain valuable advice from local horticultural celebrities, Joe Maiden and Martin Fish. Local artisan food producers will also give visitors plenty to sink their teeth into at the pop-up autumn food market. The fun doesn’t end there, as the unique BarrowBand will perform its repertoire of song and dance routines all inspired by fruit and vegetables.

Paul Cook, Curator at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, says: “The autumn harvest is a great occasion in the garden. Collecting the fruits, herbs and vegetables of the year’s labour and transforming them into delicious dishes is a fantastic way to celebrate the skills of our horticultural team.”
