Shelter for bus visitors to Webbs Garden Centre

Older people in the area are celebrating after a request to Webbs Garden Centre has resulted in a new bus shelter close to the store in Wychbold.

A new bus service was launched earlier in the year which now takes shoppers to and from the popular independent garden centre near Droitwich.

Work on the stop near the entrance, funded by Worcestershire County Council and Webbs, was the result of requests from residents and garden centre staff, supported by Wychavon district councillor Richard Morris.

Mr Morris said at the time,? ?I would like to thank the Droitwich Older People’s Forum, which first raised the question with me of whether a bus stop could be installed inside the garden centre grounds when I was mayor of Droitwich.?

At the launch of the new shelter, Jeff Edwards of Bromsgrove Forum said;? ?Members of Bromsgrove and Droitwich Spa Older People?s Forums are very grateful that, following their request for a shelter at the bus stop at Webbs Garden Centre, they have now provided one. People of all ages will be pleased to use this facility, ensuring they have an enjoyable visit to Webbs even when the weather is poor?.

Webbs Chairman, Ed Webb added, ?We were very happy to listen to the Forum?s request to put up the bus shelter which will make visits to Webbs more comfortable for customers, whatever the weather.?
