Sinclair aims to sell Joseph Metcalf site

William Sinclair Holdings has decided to sell its Joseph Metcalf factory site. The company acquired Joseph Metcalf Ltd at the beginning of 2008, but closed the Joseph Metclafe factory at Oswaldtwistle soon after.

While the Sinclair portfolio already included the J Arthur Bowers and New Horizon ranges, the ?3m purchase of Joseph Metcalf Ltd added the Gem range of compost, seed and garden chemicals, as well as providing Sinclair with an additional 150 hectares of high quality peat reserves.

There were plans to convert the Joseph Metcalf manufacturing site into housing, but these have since been turned down. Therefore, Sinclair has cleared the site of its mill and buildings, and is now offering it for sale with a price tag of ?1.95m.
