Squires Plant Show launches start of gardening season

by | Feb 19, 2020 | News, Plantaria, Sustainability | 0 comments

Squires Garden Centres held their annual plant show in West Horsley on 13th February.

Growers and suppliers came to showcase their latest plants to the company’s plant area teams. This is to get ready for the busy spring season ahead.
Three awards were presented on the day for exemplary quality and service.
  • Best Nursery Stock Award Bridge Nursery.
  • Best Bedding Plant Supplier Silverlands Park Nursery
  • Outstanding Customer Service Zsuzsanna Tanacs from Gimall Plants.
Plant Managers from each of Squire’s sixteen garden centres chose the award winners.
Eighty percent of Squire’s plants are grown in the UK. Many of the suppliers are located within a 20-mile radius of a Squire’s centre. Plant miles are kept to a minimum and local growers are supported.
Sarah Squire commented, “I would like to thank all our suppliers for exhibiting.
“I love seeing the new varieties, and old favourites, that will be coming into our garden centres over the next week or so. I’m always excited by the quality of the plants we see.
“Plants are at the heart of our business. This event is a great way to launch the start of the spring gardening season and is a real highlight of my year.”
