Strawberry Garden Centre provides flowers for Bramshall Park summer makeover

Green fingered Uttoxeter youngsters have been brightening up a popular town park while enjoying the sunshine.

Plant out in the Park returned to Bramshall Road Park with 100 children from across the town putting their gardening skills to the test.

The pupils were joined by Uttoxeter mayor Karen Haberfield and deputy mayor Andrew Riley as they set about planting poppies to commemorate the start of World War One and flowers used for pollination as part of Uttoxeter in Bloom.

The flowers were provided by the Strawberry Garden Centre with entertainment from Magic Mayhem and healthy snacks provided by MacDonalds.

Councillor Riley praised the children for all their hard work on the day.

He told the Post and Times: ?It was a fantastic day and the sun shone for us again this year.

?A unique thing for this year is that Heart of England are running a theme of Growing for Gold for pollination and we planted poppies to commemorate the war.?
