This year’s Haringey in Bloom competition has almost arrived, sponsored by the Sunshine Garden Centre, in Durnsford Road, Bounds Green, the competition has a number of different categories.
These include best front garden, container garden, allotment plot, community garden, best business premises, neighbourhood improvement, greener school grounds and the best overall entry encouraging wildlife and diversity, which will be chosen from the various category winners.
Judges will draw up a shortlist based on photographs supplied with applications ? although may also make unannounced visits.
Among the judging criteria, they will be looking at the impact the colour and use of plants has on the surrounding area, whether the display is sustainable and does it encourage wildlife to the area.
Among the prizes are vouchers for the Sunshine Garden Centre, while schools will receive a ready-to-plant sack of bulbs.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in September.
