The company, whose products are stocked in over 300 garden centres, has been producing nameplates for homes and businesses for over 27 years. The 1 millionth nameplate was a black slate sign engraved with an image of ?The Green Man? and produced for a customer in South Wales. The company sells home nameplates through garden centres and via its website www.housenameplate.co.uk.

House Nameplate Company MD, Tina Smith said: ?We are thrilled to reach this amazing milestone and we are grateful to Susan? Elan Jones MP for joining our celebrations and making the event even more special.?

It is the second time that the MP has visited the Ruabon based company. In 2012 Susan Elan Jones MP visited the company when it celebrated 25 years in business. A plaque on the company?s wall still commemorates the event.

The company recently made the news when it was discovered that its brass house numbers were used on by the BBC in its series Sherlock. The numbers 221B featured prominently next to actor Benedict Cumberbatch.
