SWEET NEW PRODUCTS FOR GARDEN CENTRE CAF? AND HOME-BAKING CUSTOMERS

A unique range of all-natural baking ingredients has been launched which provides garden centre cafes with a new sales and catering opportunity.

Sugar and Crumbs creates naturally flavoured icing sugars and cocoa powders that result in amateur bakers creating professional-looking and tasting cakes to impress friends and family – with no fuss.

The entire range of powdered products is long life and made from all natural ingredients, with an unrivalled flavour portfolio including Chilli Lime, Pear Drops, Turkish Delight, Salted Caramel and Pistachio in the icing sugars. The cocoa powders meanwhile, bring tastes of Coconut, Chilli and Cherry to cakes.

Presented in distinctive re-sealable bags, the products? RSPs range from ??1.99 for 125 g of flavoured icing sugar to ?8.99 for 500g of cocoa powders [a 125g bag of flavoured cocoa powder will make 4 batches of 10-12 cupcakes].?A trade sized bag for caf? owners or catering sections is also available, these are 2.5kg and will be sold for around ?14.50 dependent on order size.

?Our launch strategy has been to generate awareness and endorsement through word of mouth first,? says Sugar and Crumbs? Managing Director, John McFarland. ?The aim was to get the core home-baking market onside. We?ve done this through sampling, blogger outreach and events, and the response has been phenomenal.

“We?ve had an amazing year launching the product to consumers, but have also had huge interest from retail bakers and food service outlets, in the UK and further afield, so it was a logical step to introduce larger trade packs of icing sugars and cocoa powders to the trade so that the range can be sold direct to consumers to take home, or its resulting cakes can be sold in foodservice areas.?
