A thief was on the roof of a Wyevale Garden Centre following an attempted break-in on Sunday.
Police have arrested A 26-year-old man on suspicion of burglary after the incident.
CCTV captured the suspetcts breaking into the centre on Hyde Road at 11.30pm on Sunday.
Officers, including a dog unit, searched the Wyevale site. They only found a parked van containing some stolen garden products.
Two unmarked police cars stayed on the scene and at around 1.50am a man was on the roof.
They had to call the help of firefighters to get onto the roof to arrest him.
The suspect is currently in custody at Gablecross Police Station.
Sergeant Caroline Burt said: “This was fantastic work by our community police officers.
“Not only did they respond quickly, but stayed at the site to keep watch for suspicious activity.
“Our enquiries are continuing today. Particularly because the CCTV from the scene suggests there may have been a further two people involved.
“If anyone has any information then we would urge them to get in touch.”
