Trelawney launches ?Pearl Anniversary rose? for charity

A GARDEN centre in North Devon has this month (June, 2014) launched a patio rose to commemorate its Charity of the Year?s 30th anniversary.

The ?Pearl Anniversary? rose will be available at Trelawney Garden Leisure @ Ashford and proceeds from its sales will be donated to the North Devon Hospice.

Peter Burks, Regional Manager of Trelawney@Ashford in Barnstaple, said: ?North Devon Hospice is our Charity of the Year and we wanted to do something special to celebrate its 30 years of hard work helping people in the area.

?We teamed up with national grower Paul Chessum Roses to pick a rose that best represented the charity and we thought ?Pearl Anniversary? would be the perfect fit.?

The rose is a ?Pearl Pink? rose and will grow to around two feet high. It will flower from now until September and anyone who purchases one should plant it in an area with plenty of sunlight.

The rose will be available for people to purchase for ?9.99 and ?2 from each sale will be donated to the North Devon Hospice.

Ali Hunt, Head of Fundraising at North Devon Hospice, said: ?We?re absolutely thrilled by Trelawney@Ashford?s kind gesture of launching a rose dedicated to the hospice. We really appreciate everything it does to help raise money for us.?
