Trowell Garden Centre: Christmas the ideal time
Just outside Nottingham is one of the city?s best-loved independent garden centres. Trowell Garden Centre, Established 35 years ago by David and Barbara Henshaw, is a large, friendly and successful destination for gardeners and browsers on a?day out.
This time of year couldn?t be a better time to visit. The growing season may be in the frozen zone, but there is plenty for the crafty, green-fingered and curious to be getting on with.
Trowell is already a magnet for families with the wide range of products for pets as well as the caf?. Dogs, cats, birds and fish are all well-catered for, and children love browsing jingly gifts for their?best friends.
How much more delighted will they be when they realise that Santa Claus has come to town and can be visited in his magical snow cave Wednesday through to Friday 3-5pm and weekends 10-4pm? He?s in on December 23 10-4pm and Christmas Eve 10-2pm. Visits are ?4.50 per child, including a small gift, and all proceeds go to local charities.
Budding florists will be delighted by the chance to attend an exclusive session with Ian Lloyd, one of the UK’s top five florists and an RHS Chelsea flower floristry judge. Held on December 6 in three sessions, his ?Creative Christmas Floristry Demonstrations? are not to be missed. Book early to avoid disappointment!
And everyone will love browsing the cars and trying their hand at the ?crack-the-code? competition held by Bristol Street Motors ? and in conjunction with Hyundai ? where would-be code-breakers will get the chance to win ?250 of?vouchers?to spend on all things festive inside the garden centre.
