Visit GROEN-Direkt’s Autumn Fair in August for seasonal inspiration

by | Jun 20, 2023 | Business, News | 0 comments

On 23 & 24 August it will once again be time for GROEN-Direkt’s annual Autumn Fair: the international autumn trade fair and a fixed meeting place for garden-centre representatives and garden-plant exporters and wholesalers from within and outside the Netherlands.

The fair hall in which GROEN-Direkt will be presenting more than 5,000 unique sample batches, at least 50 sales concepts and a large Christmas tree stand will simultaneously host the autumn edition of the PLANTARIUM | GROEN-Direkt fair.

This will enable European garden-plant retailers to view the most complete seasonal range of garden plants, including the largest selection of novelties all under the same roof. So all in all, plenty of inspiration for you at the Autumn Fair this August!

The 2023 Autumn Fair: the number-one autumn trade fair

Every year, GROEN-Direkt organises two extra-large trade fairs. The next one on the agenda is the Autumn Fair, scheduled to take place on 23 and 24 August.

At this fair, GROEN-Direkt will be presenting more than 5,000 unique sample batches of garden plants submitted by 500 growers, and a concepts plaza featuring at least 50 sales concepts.

Visitors will be able to order the garden plants directly at the fair via the usual layers, or purchase them online in GROEN-Direkt’s webshop on the basis of up-to-date sample photos.

All this to prepare professional plant buyers perfectly for the autumn season.

Start of the presale of Christmas trees

A fixed item at GROEN-Direkt’s Autumn Fair is the start of the exclusive presale of Christmas trees. Christmas trees of all sizes and different species and qualities can be viewed at the fair and purchased at attractive fair discounts. On top of the wide range of the most popular types of Christmas trees there will also be an extensive presentation of hardware needed for the trees’ sale.

New: Green Retail Awards

Various novelties inspections are always held at the Autumn Fair. As from this year, they will take place in a new form under the heading of ‘Green Retail Awards’. Contestants can hope to win in different categories. The Best KVBC Novelty will be selected by the Koninklijke Vereniging voor Boskoopse Culturen (Royal Boskoop Horticultural Society). As usual, visitors will be invited to vote for their Visitors’ Favourite via the familiar green balls ballot system. From this edition of the Autumn Fair onwards the Best Market Innovation will be selected by a professional international jury working together with a garden centre or retail organisation, which will offer the winner in this category a platform in their shops on which to present their product to consumers. This year this will be the Intratuin chain of garden centres. It will be a different international retail organisation each year.

Joining forces

At the Autumn Fair, GROEN-Direkt will once again be joining forces with PLANTARIUM | GROEN-Direkt. The 250 growers who will be personally meeting fair visitors at their stands will make for a professional networking and inspiration fair. Visitors will also get to enjoy trend presentations, various novelties, and newly introduced products and concepts. This simultaneous combination with GROEN-Direkt’s layers fair under the same roof will make this the number-one event for European garden-plant retailers in August.
