Webbs helps magical hospice gardens grow

Staff and customers at Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold? will help children?s hospice gardens grow after raising ?1,900 for charity.

The cash was raised for Garden Re-Leaf Day on 14th March and involved a range of activities from staff wearing onesies to work, a cake sale and raffle for customers. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the Webbs 2014 calendar were also donated to the cause.

Garden Re-Leaf Day is now a major feature on the garden industry calendar. In the first two years Garden Re-Leaf Day raised over ?116,000 for an inspirational charity, Greenfingers, which creates gardens in children?s hospices around the country.

Ed Webb commented, ?It was great to see staff and customers support such a fantastic cause. I?m delighted that together we have raised such a great sum to help create magical hospice gardens.?

Greenfingers is a small, nationwide charity dedicated to building gardens in children?s hospices around the UK. It has created 42 hospice gardens since its inception and has more children?s hospices which need its help. The volunteer-organised event raises money for Greenfingers enabling several life-enhancing hospice gardens to be created.

Organisations such as The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA), The Garden Industry Manufacturers Association (GIMA) and The Garden Centre Association (GCA) are also active supporters of the day.
