White Stores donate outdoor rocking chair to Love Your Garden

White Stores, the UK’s leading outdoor living retailer, have donated a beautiful wooden rocking chair made by Alexander Rose to Love Your Garden, ITV’s popular gardening makeover TV show starring Alan Titchmarsh.

As seen on TV last night, Alan and the garden makeover team were in Hull this week, transforming a garden for Maggie Simkiss.

Maggie is a very special Macmillan nurse, for whom helping others is simply a way of life. At work, she personally cares for end of life patients and treats their emotional well-being as well as their direct medical needs.

Even if someone only has been diagnosed with just hours to live, Maggie says there is a great deal she can do and talk about with her patients to make their final hours worthwhile and happy.

Outside of work she has been equally devoted to charity work and loves looking after her grandchildren – so her garden has lain forgotten and unkempt.

So to say thank you to Maggie and offer her the possibility of some moments of well-deserved rest and relaxation, Alan set himself the near impossible task of turning her typical walled back garden into a grown-up Mediterranean hideaway that cleverly transforms into a play-zone for her grandchildren too.

Made from the finest pine wood, the Love Your Garden team handpicked the ?249.00 outdoor rocking chair by Alexander Rose and White Stores for Maggie’s new look garden.

“When we heard that Love Your Garden was back for a new series, we knew that White Stores had to get involved and help renovate the garden of a truly deserving person,” says James Whiteley, founder and managing director of White Stores.

“We’ve always been fans of this hit garden makeover television show, and the inspired outdoor living transformations that Alan Titchmarsh and his hardworking team manage to achieve every week. We hope that Maggie will enjoy her new garden rocking chair for many years to come.”
