Wilkinson Sword: Green is the new black

by | Mar 30, 2017 | News, Products | 0 comments

Wilkinson Sword has unveiled a brand new look for its iconic carbon steel range. The collection, previously available in black, has now turned green with an all-new look and finish.

Durability is at the heart of the products design, to meet the strains of a busy gardener and to deliver the performance expected of Wilkinson Sword.? All products feature the same quality carbon steel head as before, providing strength and performance for all tasks. A hard-wearing green epoxy resin coating adds durability and the heads on all the products are riveted securely in place with long sockets. They all feature the soft grip natural wooden handles that makes the range so popular.

The carbon steel collection consists of 15 products, five of which are hand tools and the remaining 10 are long handled. The range is led by the digging spade and fork which have an extra-long socket and double rivets reinforcing the shaft in place to withstand the challenges of robust gardening. The two spades have tread plates to ensure secure foot placement, ideal for digging into harder ground.

Other products include a draw hoe; Dutch hoe; three prong cultivator; and a lawn edging knife alongside two types of rake, a garden rake and a lawn rake. The five hand tools consist of a weeding fork; a hand trowel; a transplanting trowel; a patio scraper and a weed grubber.

With over 100 years of tools excellence behind it, Wilkinson Sword garden tools are continually developed to provide gardeners exactly what they want and need for enjoyable gardening. The carbon steel collection is the latest evolution of this approach, understanding that gardeners seek an aesthetically pleasing, traditional look but with modern manufacturing techniques and durability.

Nick Hills, garden division general manager, commented: ?The carbon steel collection is one of our most popular ranges as it spans a large range of gardening tasks. We decided to rejuvenate the range following customer feedback where we learnt that gardeners want something where the aesthetics match the performance capabilities. It?s not style over substance – with the new range the design is just as good as the functionality.?

Each tool in the carbon steel range carries the reassuring Wilkinson Sword 10 year guarantee that comes as standard across every item in the brands portfolio. The new green look spans across all materials, with redesigned hang tags, packaging and promotion collateral to appeal to customers at the decision buying point.
