Wyevale Garden Centres has announced that is has acquired Wych Cross Nurseries, based in Forest Row, East Sussex. The acquisition of the garden centre brings the size of the Wyevale Garden Centres estate to 151 centres. This latest addition has a core retail floor space of 12,706 square feet, including a restaurant space of 2,156 square feet.
Wych Cross Nurseries, which was established almost 30 years ago, was privately owned by three families and had built up a reputation as a high regarded plant centre, specialising in roses. The centre was offering over 1,400 varieties by the beginning of the 2000s, offering the largest retail selection of roses in the UK. The nursery has now consolidated its collection to around 500 varieties which are available to customers both within the centre and online.
