Yankee Candle reveal ‘Shaun in the City’ location

Yankee Candle Europe have revealed the location of their sponsored statue in this year?s ?Shaun in the City? London art trail is Tower Pier.

The ?Shaun in the City? art trail is in support of the Wallace & Gromit Children?s Charity and will see a group of 50 five-foot tall Shaun the Sheep sculptures decorated by celebrities and artists, arriving on the streets of London.

The art trail, which is based next to the Tower of London, will run across London from 28 March to 25 May, before a second trail across Bristol, featuring 70 different Shaun sculptures, from 6 July to 31 August.

All 120 ?Shaun?s? will be sold off at a public auction in October once the trails are finished. The money raised from the sale of the London trail sculptures will go towards Wallace & Gromit?s Children?s Charity, which supports sick children in hospitals throughout the UK, while the funds from the Bristol sculptures will go to The Grand Appeal, Bristol?s Children Hospital?s charity.

Yankee Candle previously sponsored a Gromit sculpture during the Grand Appeal?s award-winning ?Gromit Unleashed? trail in 2013, which raised ?2.3million for Bristol Children?s Hospital.

Melanie Stack, Yankee Candle president and general manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: ?The facilities and support that the Children?s Charity helps to fund is crucial to Bristol, where Yankee Candle Europe is based.

?That is why we are so excited to once again be supporting such a fantastic and exciting initiative.?

Creator of Shaun the Sheep, Nick Park CBE said: ?It?s been a busy year for Shaun, he has just launched his first movie and now he has his very own arts trail!

?Shaun is such a well-loved character with so many fans around the globe, I am sure many will flock to London to be part of the fun.?
